Duke (SID): Blue Devils On the Move in the NBA

DURHAM, N.C. ? Several former Blue Devils will have new homes during the 2013-14 NBA season, as several coveted Duke alums have joined new teams during the offseason.

J.J. Redick agreed to a four-year $27 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a sign-and-trade deal that sent the sharp shooter to the Clippers. A member of the Orlando Magic before being traded to the Bucks in the middle of the 2012-13 campaign, Redick enjoyed a successful season that saw the seven-year pro average 14.1 points and 2.7 assists in 78 games played. Redick appeared in the playoffs with the Bucks, averaging 7.3 points in four games played in a first-round series against the Heat.

Mike Dunleavy signed a two-year, $6 million contract with Chicago, joining former Blue Devils Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer on the Bulls roster. Throughout the 2012-13 season, Dunleavy was used primarily as the Bucks' sixth man, averaging 10.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. In four playoff games against Miami, Dunleavy tallied 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest.

After being traded to the Bobcats midseason, McRoberts averaged 9.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest in 26 games with Charlotte. This off-season the big-man agreed to a two-year deal with the squad valued at $5.5 million.

Entering his fifth season in the NBA, Gerald Henderson is a restricted free agent for the Bobcats and currently remains on the market. In 68 games last season, Henderson enjoyed the best season of his young career, averaging 15.5 points per game.

An unrestricted free agent, Nolan Smith appeared on the Celtics Summer League roster in the Orlando Summer League before injuring his right calf in his first game. The severity of his injury is still unknown, leaving the possibility that Smith could still be ready in time for the season opener.

Other notable former Blue Devils on the free agent market include Elton Brand, Lance Thomas, Dahntay Jones, Chris Duhon and Corey Magette.
