Which pets will you use for pet battling?

I really need to do some research into this. Need to figure out a decent, balanced party which will compliment each other's weaknesses.

It's kind of frustrating that I'll start off with so many pets: the great thing about Pokemon is that you get new pets 1 at a time, so can evaluate them as you go along. When MoP hits I'm going to have just over 150 pets to go through.

I'll probably start off with picking out some cool pets, then go from there. Figure it out as I go along, sort of thing. Could always try the fire/water/grass trinity from Pokemon, or as close as you can get to that.
