Few things beat out waking up naturally to the light of the sun. However, as it gets darker as we move into fall, that sunshine comes far too late for most of us. If you still want that feeling of waking up to the light, NYC resistor member Holly Hudson has put together a guide for making your own sunrise alarm clock.
The sunrise alarm clock works a bit differently than what we've seen before. It uses a clock to track the time and slowly activates a LED strip when it's time to wake up. As the stip increases intensity, it eventually triggers a floor lamp to really brighten up the room. Essentially, it gives you the opportunity to wake up peacefully before triggering a bright light to really force you up. Head over to NYC Resistor for a demo of the alarm clock in action (click the top image), a list of the parts, and instructions to make this for yourself.
