FIREFLY requires a Family Resource Coordinator for our Best Start Hub in Sioux Lookout to provide resources , mentoring and support services to children and their families/caregivers with an emphasis on child development and parenting issues related to children 0-6 years of age.
Duties
- Maintain a clean and safe environment on a day-to-day basis
- Provide programming functions including fostering a supportive atmosphere for families to address parenting issues, child development stages and other areas of concern
- Provide early learning and literacy opportunities as well as ensuring the programming meets the objectives and requirements of the Best Start Hub
- Together with the Coordinator, assess the needs of the community and plan, prepare and conduct appropriate information and or training programs to fulfill those needs
- Maintain a list of family memberships.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of child and family development
- Experience working with children and families from diverse cultures
