Oklahoma Valedictorian's Diploma Withheld For Using 'Hell' in ...

After using the word ?hell? in her graduation speech, Prague High School in Oklahoma is denying valedictorian Kaitlin Nootbar her diploma.

And her father David Nootbar says she doesn?t plan to apologize which is what the school is requiring she do to get her diploma.

According to a report by NBC News Kaitlin?s speech was inspired by a scene in the popular movie ?The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,? in which the speaker says ?Who the hell knows,? in reference to what she wants to be when she grows up.

According to her father, Kaitlin?s quote was, ??When she first started school she wanted to be a nurse, then a veterinarian and now that she was getting closer to graduation, people would ask her, what do you want to do and she said ?How the hell do I know? I?ve changed my mind so many times,?? he said.

In an original written script of her speech Kaitlin turned in to the school she used the word ?heck,? but instead said ?hell? during the speech.

The audience laughed and the Nootbars didn?t realize there was a problem until they tried to pick up Kaitlin?s diploma.

?She has worked so hard to stay at the top of her class and this is not right,? David Nootbar told NBC News. ?She earned that diploma. In four years she has never made a B. She got straight A?s and had a 4.0 the whole way through.?

Kaitlin is scheduled to start college in a few days on a full scholarship.
