Many of us find ourselves stressed out, particularly during the middle and end of each semester.? Some of us can?t sleep well, while? others are looking for spiritual enlightenment.? Does this sound like you?? In a previous article, I?ve written about a new group on campus called the Young Entrepreneur?s Society (YES).? They help students on campus gain business knowledge and also help to start businesses right here on campus.? As a member of this group, I?ve recently been approved to start my own business, as will others very soon.? I went through a simple approval process with Dr. Thompson.

Let me start by explaining my business.? I conduct guided meditation classes on campus biweekly for only $3 a person per session.? It?s called Tree of Life Meditation.? My classes are never the same.? Each week I add a new technique or purpose to the meditation.? Recently, we?ve seen meditation for stress, meditation for sleep, and chakra meditation.? We will go through many more techniques before the end of the semester because each person is different and may not benefit from one particular technique, but will from another.

For those of you who don?t know what this is ? meditation is a relaxing way to relieve stress, explore spirituality and enlightenment, and it?s good for your health.? It has been proven that meditation does reduce heart rate and improve breathing.? I do usually give some form of education on the technique before each class because education is always a good thing.? During a typical class, the participants come in after paying and giving their name.? Everyone sits or lies down, depending on the technique being used that day.? There is soft music being played while I guide everyone through the meditation.? Afterwards, we talk about whether or not we think we benefited from it, followed by everyone taking a short survey. After completing a few questions, everyone is free to leave.? If you would like to find out more about my business, I do have a Facebook page for the group that you can visit and request to be a member of ? Tree of Life Meditation.? If you have any questions, feel free to ask myself or my assistant Danielle Bunten.

As I said before, this class is biweekly, taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays, and is held in Adam?s Loft in the Student Center.? Each session is only $3 a person.? Please feel free to bring a friend, a blanket, and a pillow for comfort.? The schedule for each week is posted on the Facebook page with each class starting at 3:30 pm.
