The Nottingham Food and Drink Festival just keeps on getting better with every year that it runs and this year is no different as performers from across Nottinghamshire are invited to take centre stage at the fourth annual festival!

Organiser We Are Nottingham Leisure, the Business Improvement District (BID) for licensed premises in the city centre, has just kicked off its search for local singers, dancers, musicians, comedians and other performers to keep the crowds entertained throughout the festival from the 4th-8th July. They will get the chance to showcase their talents on a specially constructed stage that is just one of the many new and improved additions to the regional food and drink market.

Launching the search for artists, Sylvia Oates, chief executive of We Are Nottingham Leisure, said:

?We wanted to add a new cultural aspect to the Festival for 2012. The performance stage is the perfect opportunity for some of the fantastic talent that we have in the county to get up in front of a live audience. It also offers visitors to the market the chance to sit down and eat their food from one of our many stalls, whilst enjoying the show.

?Whatever your skills or performance experience, we?d love to hear from anyone that?s interested in taking to the stage.?

In its fourth year, the Nottingham Food and Drink Festival is pulling out all of the stops to make this year a real celebration of local culinary talent. With the extension of the demonstration area, which will allow more people than ever before to get involved with the master classes run by local restaurants such as Nada Budaya as well as a brand new beer and wine sampling marquee that will be stocked with a wide selection of wines and locally produced real ales and the new performance stage, the 2012 Food and Drink Festival, sponsored by local low-cost airline bmibaby, looks to blow previous years out of the water.

?The performance stage, coupled with the demo area, beer and wine marquee and the packed food and drink schedule across the city, means that we?re in for a real celebration of all that?s great about Nottingham,? concluded Sylvia. ?We would love everyone to come and join the party.?

All we need now is the weather to co-operate!
